Tressa Malikkal, OD, FCOVD

Tressa M. Malikkal, O.D., FCOVD | OPTOMETRIST, VISION THERAPIST, OWNER

Dr. Tressa Malikkal is the owner and operator of this multi-faceted eyecare practice in Trappe/Collegeville. She started the practice in the year 2000.

Dr. Malikkal received her optometric training at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She also completed a residency in Pediatric Vision Development at the State University of New York (SUNY). Additionally, she holds a Fellowship from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD).

She is closely involved in all aspects of patient care. This includes comprehensive eye examinations for all ages; contact lens services including specialty lenses and GVCR – gentle vision corneal reshaping – and cataracts and LASIK post-operative management; diagnoses and treatment of ocular disease; and emergency eyecare.

Betsy Martinez

Betsy Martinez | VISION THERAPIST

Betsy Martinez has been with the Vision and Learning Center since 2010. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and worked as a Elementary school teacher.

Betsy loves building a rapport with every patient while working towards improving their visual skills. She enjoys working with people of all ages, and finds vision therapy to be very rewarding.

Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Amanda Nelson

Amanda Nelson | VISION THERAPIST

Amanda Nelson proudly joined the Trappe Family Eyecare team as a vision therapist in early 2016. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education and spent twelve years teaching high school social studies. She is a recent graduate of Arcadia University’s Master of Arts Education program. Amanda’s interests include spending time with her family, traveling, and gardening.

“As a vision therapist, I enjoy working with children of all ages and helping them make progress towards their vision goals.”
